Evaluation

The compositions of our piece was impacted on a series of different things. The question to ask is Why did this concept relate to our decisions? And also how did it inspire us?.


  • How does your media product represent particular social groups?
  • Who would be the audience target for your media project?
We enjoyed filming although there were many ideas and the fact we had to change our ideas most of the time. However to respond to the questions it was useful to make a movie like this to show how social life can actually be like and it represents how teenagers can explore anything they want to pursue or accomplish something, judging by mise en scene and characteristics from the character you could tell the symbollic ways of our movie. You could say that it's more for a teenager to be informed to this type of movie, although this movie is not typically a overall accomplishment we still tried to succeed and produce something. I had strong criticisms about doing this film into a movie ( It was supposed to be a continuity piece , but as the group members wanted to change it that was the only choice we had).


  • What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this project?

My opinion on technology whilst using it is that it is very helpful but also complicated as well, the useful accquirements were the IMovie which this software we used was on the Macs, purposely it helped to process our movie and create a more dramatic effect . This software was the most successful component to use because it produced something that made it look a bit more realistic. I have learnt how to use the HD cameras effectively also the tripod which helps because as the group got the chance to use it numerous times, it gave us a chance to encounter various ways of setting each shot ( a pan, or high angle, or bird's eye view with the tripod) throughtout filming. Observing the technology made me think that it is a long process to cover but it maintains and produces better quality towards an end product ( in other words movie).

  • Looking back at your preliminary tasks, what do you feel you have have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Contemplating on our preliminary tasks from before, to my satisfactions I think looking over the technology and using software that is high tech had balanced a good effect, which the outcomes did make useful impact.


Comparison between 'Fame' and Our piece 'Call Back'

Before we had to come up with a poster concept to relate to our film. As final I had told the group to use the film Fame which is a comparison between our movie , and it adjusts to ours because of the fact it makes a good contrast to ours. Fame introduces a story about teenages who live in new york and are in high school where they do performing arts to pursue there talent, and they know it's all up to them to do well, otherwise they would not get to the future they want to get to. So it's all about ' No matter what they can do they can pursue there chances of getting far'.


Main movie

The inspiration that came to us was just a over all look at something that could happen to an individual person. As we managed to suggest one idea of our final piece this what we came up with.
Relating to our movie we used differents shots to emphasise the effect and how the characters are feeling in the movie. The over the shoulder shot emphasised how anxious and agitated Bobbie was and how much she really wanted to pull through this audition. Also using the two shot had signified how highly powered the judge was and how the girl was intimated by him, especially when he asks for her full name.
The genre of our movie is impacted in drama and musical. Thats thats the reason the film Fame had contrasted with our film.

Discussion of our filming

Overall we had to sum up our ideas and discuss our thoughts which, we intended to do and produced a introduction of what we've been doing over the weeks. As our movie is now being edited at the moment, we had a convient time to apply ourselves to get involved and mention overall our movie which we are doing. The main parts that we mentioned were when we discussed the shots, sound, editing Mise en scene, to emphasise on the characters ways in which to make it look more realistic.

The criticisms and postives

Our group thought of an idea that it would be useful for people to give criticisms and postive views of our continuity pieces. In fact it helped out because it gave us a chance to see people's feedback on what people actually think of our pieces and it conveys a rather contrast towards what were doing.
It was possible to ask people from social sites ( facebook, myspace, twitter) as well, and looking at the comments they had written had made things better for us to focus on how to change things in general.
