Evaluation

The compositions of our piece was impacted on a series of different things. The question to ask is Why did this concept relate to our decisions? And also how did it inspire us?.

• How does your media product represent particular social groups?
• Who would be the audience target for your media project?

We enjoyed filming although there were many ideas and the fact we had to change our ideas most of the time. However to respond to the questions it was useful to make a movie like this to show how social life can actually be like and it represents how teenagers can explore anything they want to pursue or accomplish something, judging by mise en scene and characteristics from the character you could tell the symbollic ways of our movie. You could say that it's more for a teenager to be informed to this type of movie, although this movie is not typically a overall accomplishment we still tried to succeed and produce something. I had strong criticisms about doing this film into a movie ( It was supposed to be a continuity piece , but as the group members wanted to change it that was the only choice we had).

• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this project?

My opinion on technology whilst using it is that it is very helpful but also complicated as well, the useful accquirements were the IMovie which this software we used was on the Macs, purposely it helped to process our movie and create a more dramatic effect . This software was the most successful component to use because it produced something that made it look a bit more realistic. I have learnt how to use the HD cameras effectively also the tripod which helps because as the group got the chance to use it numerous times, it gave us a chance to encounter various ways of setting each shot ( a pan, or high angle, or bird's eye view with the tripod) throughtout filming. Observing the technology made me think that it is a long process to cover but it maintains and produces better quality towards an end product ( in other words movie).

• Looking back at your preliminary tasks, what do you feel you have have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Contemplating on our preliminary tasks from before, to my satisfactions I think looking over the technology and using software that is high tech had balanced a good effect, which the outcomes did make useful impact.

Comparison between 'Fame' and Our piece 'Call Back'

Before we had to come up with a poster concept to relate to our film. As final I had told the group to use the film Fame which is a comparison between our movie , and it adjusts to ours because of the fact it makes a good contrast to ours. Fame introduces a story about teenages who live in new york and are in high school where they do performing arts to pursue there talent, and they know it's all up to them to do well, otherwise they would not get to the future they want to get to. So it's all about ' No matter what they can do they can pursue there chances of getting far'.

Main movie

The inspiration that came to us was just a over all look at something that could happen to an individual person. As we managed to suggest one idea of our final piece this what we came up with.

Relating to our movie we used differents shots to emphasise the effect and how the characters are feeling in the movie. The over the shoulder shot emphasised how anxious and agitated Bobbie was and how much she really wanted to pull through this audition. Also using the two shot had signified how highly powered the judge was and how the girl was intimated by him, especially when he asks for her full name.

The genre of our movie is impacted in drama and musical. Thats thats the reason the film Fame had contrasted with our film.

Discussion of our filming

Overall we had to sum up our ideas and discuss our thoughts which, we intended to do and produced a introduction of what we've been doing over the weeks. As our movie is now being edited at the moment, we had a convient time to apply ourselves to get involved and mention overall our movie which we are doing. The main parts that we mentioned were when we discussed the shots, sound, editing Mise en scene, to emphasise on the characters ways in which to make it look more realistic.

The criticisms and postives

Our group thought of an idea that it would be useful for people to give criticisms and postive views of our continuity pieces. In fact it helped out because it gave us a chance to see people's feedback on what people actually think of our pieces and it conveys a rather contrast towards what were doing.

It was possible to ask people from social sites ( facebook, myspace, twitter) as well, and looking at the comments they had written had made things better for us to focus on how to change things in general.

Storyboard for main

I decided to make a storyboard to end the final piece of the movie. Although it wasn't supposed to be the main movie, it generally was going to be a continuity piece. Here it represents what is going on in the movie. In the movie we had to cut the last part out because it was to long.

The first scene shows how nervous she is and how her friend trys to calm her down by commenting how good she is.
Then to the next scene she goes to meet the judge ( two shot) and he asks her if she's prepared as she took a while to get in side ( using a over shoulder shot show how nervous and difficult it is) . He then tells her to leave when she's told to stop and mentions how he will contact her back.

The next day she goes to the roof terrace and sees her friend and a close up of her mentioning how could he say such a thing and she storms of making a long shot and a establishing shot to make a dramatic effect when she exits the place, she continues on thinking she still can make it if she believes it.

Our titles and idea from before

At first we had this title for our first idea ' till death do us part' , but because we had to change the concept many times instead we chose the one below which now is used for our film.

but we then used a website to make it more high tech and better than the one we used.

We tried to influence our movie to be a more socialable towards teeangers who would be more interested to a typical teenage drama ( including having a audition). We had a lot of inspirations from different movies including different genres. One film in particular was Fame, the reason being was because it carrys out a message to those who would like to do something in those footsteps. Also to compare our poster the fonts, colours and the representation.


Bandslam uses a interesting title to make it contrast to rock and teenagers. Also using the girl to do a pose makes the movie look fun and enjoyable to catch the audience attention.

Posters

Since it had to be decided to think about what could relate to our main movie we had to choose a poster which would be more suitable for this movie. For the final discussion we had made our minds up and decided to go with this. Looking at this poster you can tell that the teenage girl is stressed out and figuring out whether she will get through or not. Although it wasn't the original idea, we just reviewed and deliberated on this poster and chose this to me our final piece for a poster.

Whats new !!!

Unfortunately one of our members of the group had to be misplaced with another person, Who by the following is Sue- ann Anderson has joined our group, and now we all can work successfully for our piece. We have decided to change our ideas, although the genre has changed into a more safe type of movie. We have planned a different story line and this will proceed for our film. The individuals who are in this group are now happy that we have conducted a new piece and also worked better than before.

Trying out the Video camera

In today's lesson we planned to have a tutorial on the video camera's, which was quite interesting. At first we over looked again at the camera shots, angles and movements so that we can have a quick reminder of how to use the camera's.

As we only had two people in the group and had to record diferent shots, we zoomed in and out, crab across towards left and right, ped up and down , extreme close up and long shot and extreme close up...
We filmed quick video's of us using the different movements and angles; by doing this it helped because now we can remember this and use in our 3 minute film.

Decision about title

We made a decision towards whether we should name our film till death do us part or for richer for poorer. Over all our group selected the title named 'Till Death Do Us Part'

Also there were dicussions on the style of the title's and we ended up with this end product. The title's should be scanned soon and will be compared more critically, furthermore notice should be written soon.

What were working on,

Yes, it's finally started and what we've planned to work on is a very mutual idea of having a wedding and also portraying a very spooky and mysterious thriller movie. As it may be composed slightly on a known movies. What were trying to represent is a more updated and viguous movie which hopefully appeals to people more likely than other spin offs like this.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Bobbie Briscoe and here I introduce a media blog for AS Media Coursework. Our coursework is mainly on a 2 minute film and choosing various ideas for a movie , including putting in continuity pieces, posters, and discussions of our film. And I will be using this blog to mention what we will be doing, and embellishing our ideas of the concept where were going to be observing to see whether it's good or not.
